Mt. Tabor park is one of my favorite places in this city. It is actually a mountain, covered in trees and forest paths. Though it’s near a lot of action, one of the most striking things about the place is how quiet and peaceful it is. Every city should have public green spaces like this.
I took these pictures the last time I hiked up Mt. Tabor. It was brutally hot. So hot I almost didn’t go. I was also tired, and my husband was grumpy. Indeed, I had a long list of seemingly viable reasons not to go. Challenges and obstacles will always present themselves in ways that make it seem easy, even rational, to just give up and close yourself off to an opportunity to grow. Overcoming them takes fearlessness, but it’s worth it.
